The History of Juniper Poodles
Let me start off by telling you a little about my dogs,
myself, and Juniper Poodles. My name is June Bierwas, and I have been breeding and showing
Poodles since 1962. I enjoy both breeding and showing, and have had many wonderful experiences
over the years. While I used to breed both Miniatures and Toys, I have stopped breeding Toys, except for the occasional litter. I have returned to my first love: Black Miniature Poodles.
Ch. Juniper's That's My Desire
I originally started in Standards many years ago,
and my first Show dog was a beautiful white Aleki, Champion Juniper's That's My Desire,
aka Sugar. Sugar was a born clown and everyone loved her. We no longer breed Standards,
but still have one as our "house protector". The picture shown above was the cover feature
of The Poodle Review, which ran in March, 1973.
Ch. Rochambeau's Midnight Playboy
The first of my 46 Miniature Champions was 3 years
old when I bought him. We trained, conditioned, and grew a beautiful coat on him, and a year
later he was ready for the ring. He proved himself as Top Producer.
My most memorable day that brought tears of joy
started at The Westchester Kennel Club Show. A Playboy son won Winner's Dog, a daughter
won Winner's Bitch, and yet another brought home the Best of Variety ribbon. Upon coming
home, my kids had made a sign for the front door: "Playboy's a Champion!". My handler had
called earlier to let us know he got his points and was now Champion Playboy! Playboy was
also featured on the August, 1979 cover of The Poodle Review.
Playboy was the sire of the first poodle to be
imported into Norway. Her name was Juniper's Hello World. I have made a lasting friendship
with May-Britt Karstensen. May-Britt has shown several of our poodles in the last 26 years,
traveling and showing all through the Scandinavian countries. She has done very well with
the Juniper Poodles.
Ch. Koehl & Juniper's Magenta aka: "Cookie"
In January, 2002 Cookie crossed over to the Rainbow
Bridge at a very young age. She left behind her one & only pup, a baby girl named Maraschino.
Maraschino will be living with her co-owner & friend, Rosaline Pierce in Texas.

Each and every one of our poodles mean the world to
us. Several things set us apart from many other breeders. First and foremost our poodles are
brought into a world of loving affection, and raised as not only dogs, or pets...but as members
of our family. It is impossible to think less of them. Another important part of our operation
is showing our poodles. This may be viewed to some as all work and no play. Showing poodles is
indeed a lot of work, but it is a labor of love for all involved - the poodles, owners, and
handlers. One other aspect of our operation that truly sets us apart from other breeders is
our meticulous attention to detail in our breeding practices, and our pups are not only
beautiful, but are very healthy and all come from excellent backgrounds. Please continue on
(using the next page link - or individual text links below) where you will see links to all
of our Champions and their pictures, our Scandinavia Kids, our Placed Puppies, any New Puppies
we might have available, more information on our operation, to include AKC information, pricing,
shipping, a copy of our pedigree, and more. Thank You for stopping by Juniper Poodles, and we
hope you enjoy your visit!
